The library paste recipe above is very similar to the stuff we made in Oz when I were a lad, but schools often bought a commercially-made version (in conical bottles with a stick-brush-cap combo) known as "Clag". It entered the idiom when, if you were all bunged up, you'd describe yourself as "all clagged up!"
