The very first day I worked in a daycare with four year olds, I set up a pasting project using the non-toxic white glue the centre provided. After a bit, a cheerful small boy came and sat beside me and 'chatted me up' for a few minutes. Then, looking at me with a big grin, he dunked his half-inch brush in the glue container, extracted an enormous gob... and stuck it in his mouth and swallowed it.

I've seldom been so shocked in my life. My expression must have been pricelessly funny, because the little demon burst into peals of laughter, and didn't stop chuckling all the way to the bathroom to get his mouth washed out.
