The treasuries (T-bills, several with different maturity lengths) are getting popular as they are regarded as a safe investment in troubled times. The 10-year note is up in price, reducing interest rate to 3.86% from 3.97%.

In the UK, and Ireland one can buy 'gilts,' which are bonds or debt securities (issued by Bank of England in UK). About one-fourth of UK debt is in these gilts.
Most governments issue such bonds, which are bought by investors worldwide.
