what are my thoughts? My thoughts are, as I indicated, that it is disturbing as an economic trend. It is not 'pride of culture' or anything like that. I won't drink swill just because it is OUR swill. I barely drank beer at all until I discovered good imported beer in 1978, and soon after, we started the microbrewery revolution. The 46 billion dollars InBev spent won't help ME a bit...nor will it give me better beer, even though some of the very best beer in the world comes from Belgium! (InBev's list of brands doesn't interest me)

I do think any nation needs iconic brand names they can call their own, but since Anheuser-Busch stole the name many years ago from overseas, Bud has never felt to me like some National Treasure to be protected. It's just a scary part of the moving of control of capital to 'other places' that worries me.
