I find that waving handfuls of high-denomination banknotes around whilst wandering through Nee Soon, Wanchai, and Danube Street (Edinburgh)produces a fairly unambiguous result, and could indeed be said to be such a gesture ( although I gather Edinburgh is now slightly less "brash" ? ).
