Festivals are a different animal, which present their own set of challenges to performers, this being but one. And I would consider photo taking one of the minor challenges, more an annoyance than anything else.

Seasoned pros know there is precious little to be done about the photographing of their performances at general seating events of any kind, especially at outdoor festivals.
