As this thread has re-surfaced can I remind folk of the web-site 'Songs of Inland Waterways' http://www.waterwaysongs.co.uk/SongMenu.htm which contains 'The Roving Navvy' and over 100 other canal related songs. It may be worth checking before anyone else spends time transcribing words from recordings.

If you have any UK canal songs not on that web-site I would be very grateful for them.
