It wasn't until 2001 that anyone mentioned Romania, Romania, probably Lebedeff's best-known work, and now there is a request for its lyrics. The Australian band, Klezmania, do a take-off, Oystralia, on their album of the same name.

The song Frank Hamilton writes out was recorded by early klezmer-revival band Kapelye.
