"We'll Sweep Out the Ashes" done by Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris (written by someone else, I think) is a good one, more perhaps about guilt than actual regret (same goes for "Dark End of the Street"). And Richard Thompson's "Keep Your Distance" is such a good song; more about making a commitment NOT to stray again by recognizing that one would still be tempted to do so and, therefore, avoiding the source of temptation.
