Ignore your inner critics and just write for awhile letting everything come out. You can then weed out what doesn't work. Its easier to edit what's on the paper than what's in the air. If you're feeling self conscious about writing about your feelings try writing a deliberate parody to get it out of your system. You don't have to show your friends anything if you feel really uncomfortable about it.
