Thread Name: Lyr Req: The Sky Is Bluer in Scotland
Subject: Lyr Add: THE SKY IS BLUER IN SCOTLAND (Jan Douglas
I seem to be missing a couple of words, but I had to listen to the song 3 times to transcribe this much, and I don't think I can stand to listen to it a fourth time. (I can't figure a way to replay just part of the song without starting from the beginning.)
THE SKY IS BLUER IN SCOTLAND
Jan Douglas
CHORUS: The sky is bluer in Scotland. The grass is greener there, too.
The air smells sweeter, the rivers are deeper,
The mountains allow me a a lovelier view.
And if you ever leave Scotland, the country of your birth,
From your homesick cries, you'll realize
It's the finest place on earth.
1. I know, for I'm a wand'rer. To far-off lands I roam.
Up in the sky with the clouds drifting by, I dream again of home.
My heart is with my loved ones, and though I'm far away,
I'm proud to be a Scot like me and I say this ev'ry day: CHORUS
2. I'm tired of all my wand'rings and now I'm heading home.
I've been all the places and seen all the faces and never more will roam.
And if before I leave here, I should find fortune or fame,
It can't compare with the folks back there in Scotland; that's my hame. CHORUS
[Now why would he say "home" in verse 1 and "hame" in verse 2? Just to make it rhyme, I suppose.]
