I don't think they were, Charley. At least he said the rat came along, later, it seems. I have seen kittens who were raised by a mother cat who was friendly with mice. They grew up with mice and never did have the killer instinct. Of course, in nature they would, but it seems it isn't an absolute in domesticity. They do all look well-fed, though, don't they?
