Ah, you could be right, Diane. I used to work in Eastbourne Terrace opposite Paddington Station and frequented quite a few pubs in the area (far too frequently). The one I definitely remember going to a folk club at was The Oak in Westbourne Terrace (or was it Bishop's Bridge Road by then?). Used to drink in The Sussex as well and a superb Victorian pub nearby whose name I forget.
