Well, he was in fine form when he called 'round at our stand at the Eisteddfod on Friday ... except he was wearing a bleedin' great winter coat on the only hot and fine day we had! He was off to another stand to stash it - told him he was making me break out in a sweat just looking at him!

I won't go translating the whole song; it's a take-off on one of the best known Welsh hymns so you really need to have an idea of the original to get some of the jokes. So, here's the first verse of the original:

Nid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus,
Aur y byd neu'i berlau man;
Gofyn wyf am galon hapus,
calon onest, calon lan.

I seek not life's ease and pleasures,
Earthly riches, pearls, nor gold;
Give to me a heart made happy,
Clean and honest to unfold.

Then Les':

Nid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus
Aur y byd na'i berlau mân;
' Mhroblem ydy, yn anffodus,
Os dw i'n onest, calon wan.

As above:
I seek not life's ease and pleasures,
Earthly riches, pearls, nor gold;

plus

My problem is, unfortunately,
If I'm honest, a heart that's weak.

So you can surmise the gist of the rest.
