My point is that these images don't really convey any specific message at all. What you see depends totally on your value bias. If you are horrified by plastic bottles and cups, the images are distasteful, but if you like them, they are fun--

I remember when exactly this sort picture was done for, say, Life Magazine, by whatever industry, bottle caps or batteries or Barbies, to essentially say, "Wow! Look at all the stuff we produce! Isn't it cool?"

The images are value neutral--they don't show consequences, or even relationships of any sort- so they are easy to read either way--even though the artist seems to have intended them send a strong message--
