NBC is providing lots of covereage on multiple networks, at least for those of us with cable or satellite connections. Broadcast viewers migfht not get anything more than the regular NBC network stuff (which is plenty); basic cable give you more Olympics on MSNBC, CNBC and USA, and hi-def cable offers, in addition to all that, a "Universal HD" channel plus two new special channels that provide only live (middle-of-the-night) events.
We seem to be getting a wide and seemingly random variety of events, including lots of activity without US competitors, and plenty of different sports, including "minor" ones. I'd guess there's be a pretty fair chance of seeing a British female weightlifter ~ a better chance than at any previous Olympics ~ but only one chance at best. If she's on American TV, but while I'm at work, I wouldn't expect to be provided with replay coverage
