Do you actually belive that the ad is making a valid point? If the news media do indeed run the clip repeatedly, it will in the context of reporting on the copyright-violation angle and, significantly, on the fact that the songwriter was blindsided and strongly objects.

Continued attention to the ad and to the issue may not change many minds ~ Republican McCain supporters are unlikely to abandon him because the ad campaign is ethically flawed, they've gotten used to accepting that for a long time. But it's at least equally unlikely, if not moreso, that anyone leaning toward Obama will be deterred by viewing the ad in the context of reports on the controversy surrounding it.
