I certainly cannot add anything but much agreement about all the comments on the honored subject. And, yes, Russel never came up again---for good reason.There is one name that does come to mind in having some material that rises to the Lehrer level. He is the first to point out that he owes his roots to Tom Lehrer's. I speak of John Forster.
I had the pleasure of interviewing him a number of times on our radio program and debut his latest album --The Official Bootleg Album. Topical/satirical/ and he skewers some of our celebs, mores, and hypocrisy with surgical skill.
One of his earlier works--Entering Marion always breaks me up---Figaro Todd is another winner.
