Bat Goddess, Anchorage, as kat says. It wouldn't be unusual in parts of Cape Breton or Newfoundland - lotta Moose up there. It's pretty common to see them standing in the middle of the road. They often come out into open areas (like roads) during the worst of the biting insect season, presumably to take advantage of the breeze.
My brother in law is from Northern CB, and he once grabbed a young male moose by the antler and led it off the road. NOT advisable behaviour, but he was young and foolish - and tired of waiting for it to move out of the way. He said the moose just came along with him like a horse would.
