A Good Knife is wonderful - I really must get my Good Knife sharpened again. Strangely enough, mine is also a Wusthof - Le Cordon Blue tho it only cost $100 cos it was on sale!

Maybe you can find a knife block in a thrift shop? My block was a supermarket/chainstore find.
