***UPDATE***

First of all, thank you again everyone for your suggestions. The letter that I sent made it to this girls parents house, who passed it on to my old friend. She sent me an email, she did remember me-I think she was a little taken aback by me trying to find her again, but told me what she has been up to since the last I saw of her. So, I'm not sure if it will be a "lets be friends again" situation, but I am absolutely delighted, thrilled, and touched that I found her again.
