Peter, exactly! I have sent your writing to my daughter. I am dismayed at how much her 4.5 yr old son is allowed to do with electronic media. Partly my fault as I have shown him music vids, etc. online since he was a baby, but he also does a lot of gaming and while he shows great powers of concentration whilst playing, I find he seems to have a short attention span for other things, sometimes. They are thinking about starting him in a strict, old-fashioned school next year which will be anathema compared to what he currently used to; I'd be happier if they'd find something in between the two extremes!
