Professional golfers never play courses "blind", before any competition there are practice days and Pro-Ams/Pro-Celebrity tournaments.

It is normally the player AND caddy that walk the course noting hazards, pacing out distances, looking for best lines for shots and putts, good indicators for what the wind is actually doing as opposed to what it appears to be doing.

It is the players responsibility to ensure that he, or she, is fully prepared NOT the caddy's.
