Let there be light!

Yesterday morning when I got up I discovered that in the kitchen one remaining circle bulb in the fixture over the main counter (two circle lights under a translucent plastic cover) wasn't lighting. And the 2-circle light fixture in the middle of the room (also under a translucent cover) had been on the fritz for months. That one was the ballast--it gave an eerie low light that was weird on the eyes. The wall switch died for the halogen spot light over the sink (I think it was ants in that wall last summer). Pretty pathetic, the dim light I've had--there are two halogen bulbs on my cook top and that was it.

Tonight I replaced the bulbs over the counter and I changed out the entire fixture in the middle of the room. When I remodeled my contractor kept saying "it's easy--black wire to black wire, white wire to white wire, ground to ground." I finally did it, and though getting the screws to line up to hold it to the ceiling was a headache, it is all up and running. I feel like a bat entering daylight in there. I still have a list for the electrician, but it just got shorter!

(Now I can really see the clutter. . . )
