Subject: RE: napoleon crosses the alps
Okay, the three distinct tunes I got from the JC's tunefinder link are all variations on the Mick Maguire tune that I know as "Bonaparte Crossing the Alps" from an MP3 by a group known as Fiddling In the Parlor.

Contrast that to Bonaparte Crossing the Rhine as done by Permanent Wave.

Bottom line, is if the "Alps" tune is what you want, JC's tunefinder will get you .abc notation of it which can be turned into standard notation (dots) by a number of programs, my favorite of which is ABC2Win, which is available by following this link. For the "Rhine" tune, I haven't been able to find it in ABC or anything else but I've got banjo tablature for it and if you're interested I'll try and transcribe it to standard notation or abc or whatever. Send me a personal message.
