I bought "After the Gold Rush" and "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere" both on the same day (1970, '71?) The guy behind me in line said "Hey, an Niel Young freak!" I wish I still had those albums.I disagree that his guitar solos leave a bit to be desired. He has his own style and no one else can (or at least does) do it. I don't listed to much rock anymore but I still get blown away by "Like a Hurricane" and "Cortez the Killer."
He was on Jay Leno's show several years ago doing "Harvest Moon" and "Unknown Legend". After the songs he went and sat down to be interviewed but then spotted an electric train set behind the set. Rather than talk he just played with the trains. I guess the Lionel connection was coming out. Anyone who plays with electric trains can't be all bad.
