The entire reason I started this thread is to highlight the total inanity and cluelessness exhibited in St. Paul by Republicans when they blatantly demeaned community organizers and what they do and accomplish. Their pointing to Ms Palin, the Governor, as a preferable alternative, makes me want to roll my eyes and invoke the proverbial "consider the source" dismissive comeback. The "Obama-Palin" to "Jesus-Pilate" analogy implied in the thread title seemed pretty obvious to me. But maybe not.

The Republicans public laughter, snickering, disdain, and derision aimed at these people ----- folks like Si Kahn, Bruce Phillips, Cathy Fink, Guy Carawan, Mother Jones, M.L.King, Jane Adams, Caesar Chavez, Jesus and so many others who showed disparate people who felt powerless that they do have a way to empower themselves by organizing; well, what we all saw was a vivid example of the stark differences dividing the Democrats' Social thought and programs and the GOP land-grab shoot-to-kill first morality tactics of the last 8 years.

I'm tired, and I do hope I got this right.
