p.s. as an Englishman I'm happy for an Italian to get our team organized to beat Croatia in Zagreb 4-1, just as I was happy for a Swede to choose the team that beat Germany 5-1 at their place. The English are nothing if not pragmatic and through history we've been happy to have an anglo-american, a welshman, a dutchman, or a frenchman lead us -- as long as they're a winner.
