Thanks for the laughs, John. We need 'em!

At last Sunday's Saints game in the Superdome, two fellows from the Sunset Coast were sitting behind me. While watching their Buccaneers lose (heh heh), we talked about hurricanes, and they observed how their/your area was almost immune, in contrast to most of the rest of Florida and the other Gulf Coast states. To hit Tampa, a hurricane would have to enter the Gulf, veer to the right, and complete a nearly 180-degree turnaround ~ unlikely to ever happen.

Of course, you guys are subject to nasty weather from storms that slam that other Florida cost and then travel overland to your part of the world. Uncomfortable, sure, but not devastating.
