Actually, I think Obama HAS been talking about policy -- at least when he's not forced to comment on the lies being told about him by his opponents (or let them stick). Even his DNC acceptance speech was pretty "workmanlike," dealing with a lot of policy stances and proposals and not being just an inspirational speech.
