What makes you think he is backing either McCain or Palin, Ron? Why does it have anything to do with his well known hatred of religion?

The fact that the addition of Palin to the Republican ticket has made McCain more attractive to a very large number of potential American voters is as obvious as the fact that water gets you wet. ;-) Rig's observation that that is the case does not mean he is endorsing either McCain or Palin, he is simply observing a political fact.

He has openly STATED that he would not vote for either McCain/Palin OR Obama/Biden.

Why, therefore, are you erecting a straw man about religion to hurl meaningless rhetorical questions at Riginslinger which imply that he's a hypocrite in his anti-religious views?
