As I understand it, this ship was built from a design found in excavations in Norway. It's a wooden ship, with a dragon's head at the prow, and 20 people, 19 are men. The little I heard, they were going to Newfoundland to the site of the ONLY documented Viking community in North America.Since that first evening, I have heard they are now coming south to Halifax (hopefully for Tall Ships), and going at least to New York.
Sails and oars are it. I assume they've got some items which the Vikings didn't. I would hope GPS, Radio and emergency equipment as per current Maritime rules.
This is shaping up to be a MOST interesting summer.
