We are getting a new stadium, that is why I said that Shea has one LAST party to throw!

I have very mixed feelings. I do not feel that Shea is "ugly" or a "mess". It is a stadium that has simply aged and newer facilities have made people jealous. Some of my fondest memories will forever be tied to Shea Stadium. I have held a Saturday season ticket plan since 1983 - the same seats slightly to the third base side near home plate in the loge. That particular view will never fade. I've actually purchased the seats and will they will sit in my den.   A few year ago, I could not attend a game and gave the tickets to a friend. She ended up meeting a guy in the seats next to mine and the two are now married!   So, there is a special fondness about Shea Stadium that no one will take away.

With that said, CitiField looks very nice and I think it will be a great stadium.    A church is not a building and a baseball team is not a stadium.
