The problem is the "big lie" works. Per WSJ 19 Sept 2008, according to the latest NYT/CBS News survey, 49% of those polled believe that Obama will raise THEIR taxes. When for over 90% of the electorate the opposite is true.

The McCain campaign, and internet "information" like the e-mail Ebbie cited are constantly reinforcing this canard.

And more and more, it seems, people are saying: " I don't trust anything I see on TV or read---the media always has its own ax to grind-----but I trust what my grocer and my barber and my Sunday school teacher tell me. And they all tell me Obama is a closet Moslem who will raise my taxes--so it must be true."

That's what an "informed electorate" has come to, it seems.

So we'll have to convince the grocer, barber, and Sunday school teacher in order to get the other voter's support.

There's got to be a better way.

The only possible approach which might work seems to be to point out--over and over--that the GWB Republican regime has steered the US to ruin--and therefore it would be crazy to entrust the henhouse to yet another fox.
