What's really fun, lox, is when they pretend to be able to read and tell you, very importantly that "I will do it. I can read it," then proceed to make up a story to go with the pictures OR whatever they can remember from your having read it to them. It's a blast to hear the creative juices flowing through such purity as a young one.
