I can remember the original Lucky Starr recording being a big radio hit when I was living in Australia in the early 1960s.

My good friend David "Dusty" Miller (canal artist, song-writer and enthusiast) has written his own parody of the song, using the names of locations on the English canals and other navigable rivers.
