If you can get your hands on a copy of Ronald Roberts book Musical Instruments Made To Be Played, published by Dryad, there are instructions and plans for all sorts. It's where I got the plan for my Bowed Psaltery. I made it in school as a 16 year old, then went on to make 5 more, including one for The Corries.
