Just wait till next year...


After the debacle ended, the Mets closed Shea Stadium.

It was a very moving ceremony that was capped with all the players of the past (including Willie Mays, Seaver, Strawberry, Gooden and my man - Rocky Ron Swoboda!) and then Seaver through the final pitch to Mike Piazza. Seaver and Piazza walked to the outfield and walked through the outfield gate - shutting it behind them to "Shea Goodbye".   I wept like a baby.
