I'm not entirely sure I do get your drift, Stilly, but it sounds interesting. I think people in the present culture are mostly far more squeamish about their own bodily functions than they need to be. Some people are downright obsessive about it, matter of fact. I don't know what the problem is, but I suspect it goes back to their toilet training or something.

To put it bluntly, they can't deal with their own shit, because they're so afraid of it! ;-) That can be interpreted either literally or metaphorically, needless to say.
