In the U.S. the do not call list worked for a while, but there are scoff-laws who call whenever. I regularly get calls that are phishing, pretending to be from my VISA card company and acting like I haven't responded to and need to respond to their offer to lower my rate. I get lots of political calls now that are protected, but I've asked most of them to take me off their phone lists. Their calls aren't going to make me change my mind and I don't need them to remind me to vote.
