gnu - I don't have that problem either. My phone is in the basement office, and the ringer is turned down quite low. I can't hear it when I'm upstairs. Therefore there is no chance whatsoever that it will wake up me while I'm sleeping.

Am I worried that I'll miss an important call? Hell, no. I have never missed (or even had) an important call in the last 59 years, and they can always leave a message anyway. I check for messages after I get up in the morning.
