Thread Name: CD Sales Idea/Question
Subject: RE: CD Sales Idea/Question
A good percentage of CDs that I've put out on consignment have sold. However - and in my case, it's a big however - it often just doesn't seem to be worth the time and bother it takes. You drive fifteen-twenty minutes out of your way, you hang around till the manager has time to talk to you, you chat for five-ten minutes, you leave four or five CDs, you're back in the neighbourhood six months later, you stop by again, wait for the manager, chat, he or she says, "We sold two or three - how many did you leave here?", you think, then say, "Four or five - maybe four - or was it five?" You come away with thirty bucks in your pocket, you've left three or was it four there till next time, and you don't know if you've come out ahead or behind ... Then you find that the place where you left ten CDs has gone out of business, and nobody knows where your CDs are ...

That's how it goes for me. BUT: if you are more organized, and/or if you have a fixed address with a number of consignment-targets in the vicinity, it could work out quite well, I think
