I remember this, too. Him in a raincoat with speeded up walking, darting too and fro over the title music. In recent months I have seen an advert on tv which I believe uses the same music and has a parody of the visual style, but I can't remember the productThere was a "popular" novelist called Warwick Deeping who wrote a book entitled "Mr. Gurney and Mr. Slade", and I'd always imagined Newley got it from there, but if it's a placename, both could have been derived from that, of course.
