It's interresting . . this thread occurs at the same time as Guthrie's "Deportees" is being discussed elsewhere in the Mudcat . . the reporting of this ghastly murder is so similar to the dehumanised reporting Guthrie raised his voice against SO long ago . .

And, Escamillo, I DO blame "developed" countries, or at least their politicians and media . . for legitimising greed and self-interest, and raising them to the status of a creed.
