Well, now, here I am for the 3rd night in a row connected to my beloved mudcat friends - Tuesday night at Vixen's, last night for the full record-setting five hours of listening/watching (albeit fuzzily) mudcat radio (Fabuluous show Max, et al.), and now thinking of the gathering at annap's. Oh how I wish I was in Sea Bright. I can picture the scene having spent some time on the beaches there. My sister used to live in Rumson, and we hit the beach every time I went there. Now I think of her son, Jeremy - you may recall I posted that he died in a canoe accident in March near Matawan. A beautiful boy of 25 who so loved nature, especially near the water. He once caught a 40 pound striped bass off Sea Bright and was so excited he strapped it in the passenger seat of his Karman Gia and drove it around like a prom date all night showing it off to his friends. He was never particularly concerned with trying to impress the girls, but he did anyway. So it is with a tender, quiet joy that I sit here thinking about the Mudcatters just about now watching the sun set over the river, the music gently flowing up to our darling Jeremy.
