...and a good time woz 'ad by all!

We had a good turn-out of singers and audience who were all very appreciative of the ten-hour marathon!

Alternative Therapy look set to become very popular on the folk club circuit - and possibly festivals - so keep your eye out for them and get to see them as soon as you can! Sam and Dave's guitar/bouzouki combinations and Elaine's virtuoso irish flute along with their voices in various combinations... more imprtantly, the wide variety of material from trad Irish through to ragtime with various contemporary songs for good measure!

Ruth and Ken - what can I say that hasn't already been said? As a duo they 'gel' perfectly - Ruth's lovely voice and Ken's tasteful (never intrusive) guitar accompaniment... did I mention he makes the guitars himself?! Their choice of material suited the occasion perfectly, and included songs by Dave Walmisley (the other third of Risky Business).

Dan McKinnon? He stood before us with his beat up old Gallagher guitar, and mesmerised us with his playing and singing. Afterwards, he claimed he only sang three songs (out of fifteen or so) he hadn't written himself - two of which were Stan Rodgers covers - which is a fine testament to his songwriting ability.

So... if you weren't there, you missed a real treat - and for only twelve squid! Better luck next time!! ;o)
