My prediction was that Folkies would not change commitments for 2008 and that 2009 would be the year a lot of them thought and chose carefully. But I never thought it would strike so close to home - I live not an hours walk from Saul.
I think Clive Field et al have made a wise decision. They could have been under water next year just as easily, late stayers had to be off the field by 12pm because the flood gates were opened at that time. The river was over-full.
There is no flood season any more, Shrewsbury Showground was under water 3 weeks after the Bank Holiday. If it had been three weeks before it would have been softer than Bromyard. Any nearer the date and people might think twice.
Warwick didn't have to be under water last year to be affected.
