" 'Another Land Made of Water', Gordon Bok's inspired work written in 1979, is the musical story of a magical and mysterious encounter with sea dwelling people.  On Saturday, October 18, 7:00 PM at the Bucksport Performing Arts Center, come hear this magical presentation narrated by Gordon and Mary Bok, accompanied by 10 instrumentalists and 80 singers from 3 midcoast-area choruses – Voices Unlimited, Quasimodal Chorus, and Voices for Peace.  This chronicle of a storm on a small island and the encounters and revelations it brings has been described as a "shimmering tapestry of interwoven music and a truly indescribable story." Tickets are just $15 and are available at The Orland Market, Bookstacks in Bucksport and from WERU by calling 469-6600." (From the WERU Community Radio site,

I'm sorry to be posting this so close to the performance. I was away unexpectedly and since I returned I've been busy rehearsing for the chorus parts I didn't even think of posting it until Sinsull mentioned it me this morning.

It's an amazing composition with amazing instrumentalists; Gordon himself, Cindy Kallet, Grey Larsen, Matt Szostek, Anne Dodson, Carol Rohl, Paul Schaffner...with two talented high school students adding cello and another flute. Rich fare indeed.
