Well, Linn won't be at The Press Room this afternoon. I'm still layed low and recovering from the Post-Getaway Crud and I wasn't even AT the Getaway! Must have picked it up at the soiree last weekend at the home of the Perle Mesta of Portland...

If I had any energy (which I haven't) I'd fantasize about shaking seven different kinds of snot out of you all -- which, considering this particular malady, might happen spontaneously.

Sorry, Alison! I was dead to the world the afternoon you and your beloved were here -- I DO look forward to meeting him someday when my head isn't full of large dry insects and my lungs and nasal passages aren't full of the above seven different varieties.

My primary manager was prescient enough yesterday to realize I'd need another day plus my Sunday day off to recover and be more or less healthy for next week and so booked someone else to cover for me today. However I just got a call from my OTHER manager (geez, this flitting between two optical shops is making me dizzy) saying she's sending the optech there home sick this afternoon -- could I possibly cover for her tomorrow? Uh uh -- not if she wants me there on Monday, which is HER day off.

Ah well, this too will pass.

I think this is the third, possibly the fourth, Press Room Shanty Sing I've missed in the past five years since it started.
