The point I was trying to make in my tirade above was; It doesn't bloody matter! As long as buyer and seller understand the quantity and its price! And in retail exchanges, they do. Some poor bloke was prosecuted for selling bananas by the pound, but he wasn't cutting them up to get exactly a pound sterling's worth.
Do you buy your petrol by the gallon? Or do you say $50 worth? One pound of banansa or six bananas?
